Potato Grow Box
Want to grow your own potatoes? Want to grow them without all the chemicals and herbicides that potato farmers apply so liberally?
In other words, do you want your own supply of organic potatoes?

Potato Grow Box
A Potato Grow Box is a great solution to growing your own potatoes.
The Potato Grow Box is a set of stacking boxes that take advantage of the two stages of potato growth:
Rooting
Flowering
The potato plant can be forced to switch back and forth between these two growth stages.
During the “rooting” stage the plant is deprived of sunlight and burrows upwards to find the sun. Lateral roots, where the potatoes grow, are sent out from the main taproot as the plant grows upwards. Forcing the plant to continue to grow upwards creates a strong taproot and multiple lateral roots where an abundance of potatoes will grow.
When the plant reaches sunlight, it switches into the “flowering” stage and the nutrients from the soil and sunlight are utilized to grow potatoes.
The Potato Grow Box system makes it possible to grow 50 pounds of potatoes or more.
How Does It Work?

Lower Box and Upper Box
When the plant reaches sunlight, it is allowed to continue to grow in the “flowering” stage until it is about eight inches tall.
At that time, an upper box is added on top of the bottom box and filled with about eight inches of soil, covering the potato plant.
The plant switches to “rooting” and where leaves were on the plant, now lateral roots are formed as the plant grow upwards to find sunlight.
The process is repeated as the plant is allowed to grow another eight inches tall in “flowering” mode. Then another upper box is added, filled with 8″ of soil, and the plant switched back to “rooting” mode, sending out lateral roots and growing upwards to sunlight.
In a sufficiently long growing season, three upper boxes can be added on top of the bottom box and an abundance of potatoes will grow at each level.
